Further Changes to Postal Services for European and Overseas Customers

in April of 2012 Royal Mail made significant increases to postage charges for all services. I am no longer able to subsidise these prices to keep them as low as I have for the last 12 months

Therefore from today (30/03/13) I will have to charge the full cost of postage and packing for items send outside the UK.

All items are sent via Air services requiring a signature on receipt for security. The *minimum* cost of this service to Europe is £8.20 (£7.80 postage plus £0.50 packing). The minimum for outside Europe is £14.00 but may be more depending on weight. Please remember you can email us for a quote before you place your order.

Change to Postal Services:

Following repeated and sustained foul ups by Royal Mail on items to and from Inside the Armour we will be trialing the use of courier services on all orders over £50 in the UK. The cost of postage for anything up to 10kg (to mainland UK addresses) will be £8.50. This service guarantees next day delivery, but speed is not the reason for the
change, but rather an effort to reduce losses through lost items and items delivered to incorrect addresses.

Overseas items will still be sent via Royal Mail due to cost (courier services are almost double the cost of RM on overseas items) however, if you wish we can quote for sending via courier worldwide

We apologise for the extra expense (although on large kits it actually only means an increase over Royal Mail of £1) but we cannot continue to fund the losses incurred by the use of Royal Mail.

The Trial will begin on Tuesday 2nd April

Postal Charge Increase (effective 13/03)

As UK customers will know, last April Royal Mail increased their postal charges yet again.

For the last year I have bourne the extra cost of postage, but it has not got to the point where I can no longer subsidise it. (To give you an idea I have been charging around £5 to post decals or an etch set to Europe and have been paying £7. I have been charging £5 to send a parcel in the UK and have been paying £7).

This high cost is due to the fact I used to lose 20% of everything sent by Royal Mail, and with the parcels not recorded I was unable to recoup the losses from them. Therefore I now have to send everything recorded to ensure customers actually receive the kits they order.

From today onwards I am sorry to say the charges will have to increase in line with the actual cost of shipping. Not all items will be affected, very small parcels in the UK do not really cost anymore than they did, but others will have to go up to match the actual costs
